STUDIO UPDATE

This week I have been focusing on the work of Ash Kittle, a new and upcoming fluid artist who pours on glass. I came across this artist on Instagram and was initially interested in her space themed glass coasters, but after searching through her page I found more brightly coloured paintings that have cut out collages sealed within them which I also really enjoy. Inspired from Kittle's, I initially I did a classic pour on a small piece of glass (pictured above), however I didn't seal it in resin quick enough and the paint began to peel because of the glass surface. I now know for my next pieces where I went wrong and how to improve. I am looking forward to seeing if/how the resin brings out the colours in the work- I can imagine the resin creating a nice smooth, bright surface which might revive some of the duller colours in my pours.
